14/05/2010 Totally dissatisfied with my new renewal dog insurance - the premium has increase by 50% this year - no loyalty discount. my dog ig over 8 years old and other places dont insure pet over 8. been with the company since the start
18/01/2010 If you are self employed - avoid them at all costs. I have had an insurance with them for 12 years to insure that my mortgage gets paid if I am out of work through sickness and unemployment. They want me to cease trading and therefore not be self-employed anymore. If I do this, I can no longer look for work (I am a carpenter and work through Agencies). Has anyone tried to sue them for false representation?
05/12/2009 I have had a medical cash plan for many years and have never had any problems with cardiff pinnacle.
20/11/2009 19th november 2009 I had dealings with cardiffe pinnacle earlier this year and i had to persevere to get my money which was rightly mine. They tried everfything not to pay me .

07/10/2009 07/09/2009 As per the review on 04/09/2009 my advice is the same, Avoid Cardif Pinnacle at all costs. To give you some background I am a self employed drilling materials co-ordinator working in the North Sea on the oilrigs therefore I took on a policy to cover Accident, Sickness & Unemployment back in December 2004. Everything was fine, Pinnacle was getting monthly payments, I was or thought I was covered then came the recession and the oil companies stopped drilling, my contract came to an end and I was forced to seek Job Seekers Allowance and suspend my company. I got Pinnacles claim form filled in including the bit from my accountant and the Job Centre and submitted it. A few days later I got a letter from Pinnacle asking for six months bank statements and confirmation that the accounts to cessate the business have been prepared and submitted to the HM Revenue & Customs. After several phone calls to explain this the outcome is that Pinnacle want my business total shut down, including the bank account before any claim can progress. I tried to explain that by closing down the business completely makes me unemployable in my trade as I work contracts with oil & gas operators and not one day jobs here and there. Needless to say this does not concern Pinnacle and I have now been forced to ditch Pinnacle and lose all the monies paid to them.
04/09/2009 Avoid this insurance company at all costs. I signed up over the internet for what I thought would be a simple cash plan for everyday health expenses, instead what I got was a very stringent policy and claims reps who do all they can not to pay out over anything. Simple claims for complimentary therapy were subjected to requests for my full medical records, which they told me were assessed by "trained medical personnel", which turned out to be nurses making arbitrary medical diagnoses. They delayed and strung out my claims as much as they could before rejecting them as pre-existing conditions even though I explained they were recently sustained injuries.
07/07/2009 Did what they could to create a long drama out of a crisis by slipping in extra excesses and calling black, white to try to defend themselves. Clearly in the wrong it took 4 months to get my money back and still persuing a Financial Ombudsman (FOS)complaint for attempted deception. They aren't even listening now. Premiums on zero claims history healthy young dog went up from £150 to £266 in 4 years and now we have claims we fear for the cost. Avoid if you're not alreaady there and reach for the FOS as soon as you have a sniff of trouble if you're already locked in.
05/10/2008 Local Broker say they search a "panel of leading insurers" to find the best home insurance quote - they do this through Dial Direct, and I wasn't really clear what the benefit of going through Local Broker rather than Dial Direct itself was. I found their address auto-complete function confusing but the rest of the form was straightforward, although lengthy. Annoyingly, I went all through the process only to be told that they wouldn't insure me online, and I wasn't given a reason. I could have got a quote on the phone, but wanted to do it online as it's easier to compare quotes that way.
06/08/2008 Just cancelled my insurance with these people after I rang to advise them that I had moved house and was told I would be charged £95 to change the policy accordingly!! They stated that this is standard practise, but only managed to reel off a load of jargon when asked to explain exactly how a change of address was going to cost them this amount. Also took several days to get through on telephone, and I wouldn't bother trying to call them on a Saturday morning, as I spent a total of 4 hours over 2 Saturdays on hold. Really wouldn't recommend to anyone.
19/06/2008 Bike insurance is offered in association with Bennetts, so you know you are going to be well covered. Cover also began immediately, you didn't have to wait for a cover note to arrive. Added bonus was that you also get breakdown cover with RAC. The Web site itself was quite slow though which was a bit frustrating, and there seemed to be lots of pages to fill in. The little question mark buttons were quite good because the info just appeared at the side of the screen. Loads of info supplied about the product you were buying. Charged a whopping 14% extra to pay in monthly instalments however!
14/06/2008 I would not use this website by choice. It is set up to provide quotes from a variety of sources, in a way similar to USwitch. However, the application form wants far too much information when all I am doing is looking for a range of indicative quotes. They do not need to know my daytime telephone number nor any particular information about my profession. Since, from experience, providing this information leads to follow up calls (which I only want if I ask for), then I would tend to avoid using this site and use one that requires far less initial information.
01/05/2008 This site claims to search 90 insurers, but as with many others comes up with Fortis. Quote even higher than Tesco, which is the highest I have found so far. There seems to be a lot more questions to fill in. Not a bad price on contents insurance, but the form took a while. They charge a deposit and interest to pay monthly. Wouldn't choose to use it really.
