05/10/2011 Been with co-op over 20 years, never claimed before...tried to claim after torrential rains over a very short period of time on the 08th Aug2011 claim was refused as storm damage as they say there wasn't winds of over 47mph that damage was existent and was ware and tear. Well if it existed before It would have rained inside my house which never did and as to the wind, storm is not just wind, it can be water, lightening, etc ..it rained torrentially over a short space of time and damage was done either to guttering or roof as result, they are crap no payment made...no longer trust them will leave as soon as I can ..the prob is all banks now are the same....

27/05/2011 I bought car insurance policy from Co-operative (CIS), but because of wrong date they suggested to cancel it and buy again with correct date after I receive refund. Today is 15th day after I canceled it, and still haven't received my money back. In the meantime my previous policy run out. I phoned them several times, but that doesn't help. They are good in taking money from your account, but if you phone them they tell you rubbish. Waiting for refund 15 days + bank holiday weekend tomorrow is too much.

19/08/2010 Am employed as a co-op adviser, home service - yes we still do it depsite previous comments to the contrary. I have claimed twice on my car insurance and never had a bad expereince. I appreciate you would expect me to say that, but from a customer point of view, if you follow their policy guidance you should not have a problem. Courtesy cars must be provided if you use an APPOINTED repairer. Mine was delived in thick snow with no issue. If you make a claim, expect to be asked to provide evidence, depending on the claim all companies do this to prevent fraud and increase in premiums for other customers. Some claims do take a long-time to process, especially in bad weather where claims rise drastically. Legal issues can also hold up.

03/05/2010 yea i had insurance with cooperative they charged me £1400 and for the renewal they they gave me quote of £4000 i had made no claims i had no accident and 7 year no claim. co operative are very ridiclous company

04/03/2010 My daughter has just received a letter advising her that car insurance will not be renewed when it runs out at the end of the month. No reason has been given, when she rang, all they would tell her is that the under writers have reviewed and changed their policy!

04/02/2010 I took my car insurance out with the co operative, i had a horse run out in front of me on the A1 i was luky i was not killed, it took me 3 days of battling with them to get my courtesy car, they took over 3 weeks to process my claim, have got legal cover will not fight my corner and have put the accicent down as my fault even though the horse owner has got 3rd party liabilty. The whole episode has left me distressed, and lost of my no claims! Would never use them for anything or recommend them

03/02/2010 Major changes in company CIS Ltd now name changed to Cooperative insurance and is being run by Britania since August 09.Nobody was informed since Jan 2006 that the local agents gone, local offices gone along with very good staff. If you have a policy mature think yourself lucky to get back what you've paid in.You can kid some of the people some of the time, but.....

17/10/2009 Since starting with Co-op Financial Services, I have received endless sales calls from them, although they always claim it is not them when I complain. They pass your details on to Network Research, who then also cal you up to do 'market research'. Their customer service is nowhere near as good as it once was, and the salesperson who took my quote was, simply, thick. Disreputable and untrustworthy.

15/10/2009 i have made a recent claim on my contents insurane ,with the co-op and was totally shocked when they told, me they conduct their claims over the phone they have asked me for personal details such as bank statements and photographs of the incident, that caused the damage to my sofa,s .they want photographs of me and my son,the position we were in at the time the sofas were damaged .if i had know they do their business this way i would never have taken contents insurance or any other type of insurance with them.they acted lkie a bunch of cowboys

29/09/2009 My husband had an accident, lost part of his no claims & still after 5 days no courtesy car & no response from insurance company to say whether they are going to repair or write off?? I have had to hire a car costing me too much money! I have an excess of £250.00 & just don't know where any of this is coming from, they have been the most unhelpful company. Once our business is finished it will be finished & I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone!

05/07/2009 i have written to you on several occasions about my car insurance and each time you have not replied . now i am looking for another company who care , for the next renewal dates on my house and car insurance .

02/06/2009 I have been waiting since January 09 for someone to sort out a claim for me. I have been a customer for 20 years and up until now very happy......I am unable to get my issues resolved despite spending at least £20 on phone calls to people who pass it on. I dare say this won't make it to this page but mr * ***** someone in customer services might contact me as promised in the past by more than one cis operative!

01/06/2009 Unfortunately you never know really how good an insurance is until you have an accident. If you are unlucky and have CIS motor insurance have nothing to do with their claims handlers Albany Assistance. It will end in tears if you use their courtesey cars, because the at fault company will baulk at their ridiculous rental prices and you will get the grief. I've been there. The AA also use Albany a-twistance.

17/11/2008 It is crazy to think that when i had a qoute from my local CIS financial adviser, he was not as cheap as the online service, he told me he cant match it as he does not have any power to provide discount. He advised me to take the qoute online. But he would not get any commission on the sale. What a joke. This guy drove to my house spending his fuel money, his car runnign costs to not a have a sale as he could not match the online qouting system does make you think. how long will my co-op man keep calling around. Felt sorry for him but was not prepard to spend 15% more on car and no doubt hine insurance that i latter did.

01/11/2008 Was impressed to see them binding home, caravan and travel insurance together if you wanted. But why couldn't they add car insurance there too to save me entering my details all over again? Eventually some bright spark will realise that they could make their potential customers very happy by returning quotes for all possible products with only having to enter your details once!

19/10/2008 The Co-operative bank offers 15% off when you buy home insurance online - I liked the fact that this was a definite discount. A lot of companies have vague offers like "Up to 25%" without explaining how you qualify for that. The site design was simple and the form was easy to follow. Unfortunately, once I'd got as far as selecting home insurance for a flat, it told me that they can't provide quotes for flats online. I've only found that with one other company, and neither they nor the Co-op have explained why this should be. I don't want a company that needs me to call up for such simple things and doesn't bode well for the future - so I won't be using the Co-op.

05/06/2008 I bought insurance from the Co-op even though they weren't the cheapest quote because they have a sound customer services reputation. The site was everything you would expect from them, it was all very clearly laid out and easy to complete. The questions were pretty standard for car insurance quotes as were the conditions, although the policy links were a little bit hidden away at the bottom of the page - I think they should have made that link a little more obvious because it is so important and I would have liked to have read it before I applied for a quote but didn't think it was there.

02/06/2008 This is a typically boringly competent insurance web site. I found it easy to use, find the information I wanted and to obtain a quote. There is nothing wrong with it and nothing particularly informative or useful about it either. They have a strong brand, sure, but at least they could act like they really want my business.

23/05/2008 Unfortunately the customer service I always relied upon in the past is no longer a feature of CIS, who like so many financial service companies now offer the minimum standard to stave off regulatory bodies with no notion of serving the customer. For a mutual business this is disappointing, to say the least.

17/05/2008 Wholly professional looking and works really smoothly. Inspires confidence in your purchase - and being the co-operative bank, makes you feel good about your self too (well, maybe some of you will)! Good , cheap quote with low excess.
