30/04/2010 The insurance looks good, for the price .... that is until the time you really need them. They will only pay out on accidental damage where you can show them the broken body part, or prove that an engine had been pre inspected by an independant inspector very recently before an incident. Despite there been previous cases of engines blocks cracking on a particular make of bike their inspectors do not believe they can be damaged without a major impact.

24/03/2010 Just came off the phone from Devitt Customer service. This is the last insurance company you may ever want to go. I had a policy for my Vespa for about 8 months and requested to cancel policy in time. They failed to cancel it and renewed my policy and charged me extra money for it. so i decided to call them to ask for refund. After waiting for more the 7 minutes, i got connected to an agent and i had been informed that they will not refund because the policy was made and sent to me. and it was returned only after a WEEK. that week i was on holiday in France. They are supposed to cancel the policy when i requested them; they failed and they sent me policy which i was supposed to come the return it all the way from France, if not they will g

01/11/2008 Was happy to see that they car insurance too, but on the first page it said that I could not fill in the quote form if I or any additional drivers had a part-time job. I've never heard anything so ridiculous. What extra risk is there if my wife does a few hours at the Tesco on weekends?

15/10/2008 There is a lot of small print to read through before you even get to the quotation form on the Devitt website, which was a bit off-putting. Their form seemed more complicated than necessary, particularly the occupation finder, which involves typing in some text and then searching, rather than choosing from a drop-down list as normal. When I finally got to the end of the form, I realised that Devitt actually just act as a broker and had got me three quotes from other companies. Their cheapest quote was still more expensive than I've had elsewhere, so I wouldn't use them.

01/06/2008 Found the site through a friend's recommendation although I was a bit disappointed with the quote. The system was quite slow as well, and I had to call them on the phone because the disclaimer at the beginning was a bit confusing where it said that they wouldn't insure anyone with a part-time occupation. When I did ring I got straight through though and the staff were really helpful. One bonus was that there was an entire page devoted to showing you what they do with your info and asking whether you wanted to be contacted in future.

28/05/2008 As they specialise in the field the insurance is well structured around different types of bikes and different types of riders. Its helpful that the main page contains some indicative quote prices as, given the level of specialism, the on line quote form takes some time to complete though so those "just curious" will probably get frustrated quickly.

13/05/2008 On behalf of the Royal Bank of Scotland apparently. Specialises in motorbike insurance. Acts as a site comparison site and yet comes up with Fortis quotes like everyone else I've tried today. An inbetween priced quote. May be much better if you are looking for moped lessons or motorbike insurance.
