17/09/2011 LV quoted £266.99 to renew my insurance (no claims had been made). When I called to renew and advise my new address, they said the premium would increase by almost £40 because of the address. When I pointed out that my wife's insurance (with Tesco) had actually decreased, LV said that their underwriters classify my post code as a higher risk. Given that I live in a rural location with few people in the area, I found this hard to believe. I therefore checked with the Police crime statistics and they clearly showed that my new address has a much lower crime rate in every category than my previous address. I pointed this out to LV via their web site feedback form. A week later, they left a message asking me to call back to discuss the matter. When I did so, they simply repeated their previous position, making me even more annoyed with them. The lesson from this is that LV will deliberately use false statements to increase your premium. Given such terrible business practices, the conclusion must be to NOT use them.

01/09/2011 One year on from the 31/8 comment that someone has made - -i have been trying for two weeks! Every day - -different times - -minimum 30 minutes before my home phone goes flat!!! As a result I currently have insurance on a car that I no longer own - -have taken out insurance with a different company for my new car as I couldnt get through to find out how much would cost!

23/08/2011 Have found the service & staff outstanding. When I wrote off my car they bent over backwards to get me mobile again, and the whole business took less than 4 weeks to complete - absolutely brilliant!
