30/09/2010 Absolute waste of time - the call centre in India have no understanding of English (my non-existant knowledge of Indian is probably better). Still waiting for a call back over a month later (I was promised a call "within half an hour" - clearly a different time scale over there. Premium went up by over £150 - got a quote much cheaper online with them again - called them and they advised to apply via that online website rather then them just agreeing the premium - what a waste of time & effort - hope I never have to make a claim.
27/09/2010 This company is a joke, they have now got my details wrong on 2 ocasions meaning my daughter has been driving round with no insurence for a month, we are trying to take legal action but they are so rude they wont agnolage this.
17/09/2010 I am leaving Morethan.....I rang through and reached thier Indian Callcentre, and when I eventually got through the adviser said I need to call back in 30 mins as they were all going off for there break...I explained that I needed one question answered, but he said no. Then when I did speak to another lady I had to repeat myself atleast 5 times with each bit of information and she was rude
06/09/2010 I took out car insurance with More Than who are actually Royal Sun Alliance just over a year ago.I have many years NCB.Iwas stationary in a car park with CCTV when an idiot youth got out of a car and rammed his door against the door of my brand new Peugeot.Dealing with India is a disgrace and had i known this before would never have gone with them.The whole process is tedious and now a year later i am informed that CCTV lasts only a month and the offender and family are denying it ever happened yet at this late stage M Than are having a useless inspection done of his door to find damage.A recent letter to the Customer Services Director 6wks ago was waste of time.Phone a UK address you get India.The Govt should stop this practice now.
06/09/2010 Terrible customer service. I had my car stolen on the 2nd September, it was found 5 minutes up the road with a lot of criminal damage - it was undriveable. MoreThan took 8 hours to recover the vechicle - the driver didnt have instructions on where to take it. We took it to two Ford garages - both said they dont deal with MoreThan! I am still waiting for my courtesy car and have been told I wont get it until at least 7th September - thats 5 working days later! All the staff and rude and aggresive and i have to repeat myself 3/4 times to get through! So frustrated with them!!!
27/08/2010 got my renewal notice phoned and said iwould call back when i came back from hols was told that was ok tweeks later phoned and told that i should have rang within ten days policy had been cancelled and now would not cover my son after being covered last year because of his age also i wish you could speak to someone who speaks and understands english complained but no responce as yet
12/06/2010 Utterly abysmal. Their Indian call centre is hard to hear, hard to understand, and anything you want to tell them has to be said three or four times before they get it. Plus they haven't a clue. Three weeks after my accident, two weeks after the car was declared a total loss, and they're still telling me it is up to the garage to decide what to do with it. Avoid!
08/06/2010 Avoid this company. Took a policy last year with more than with 9 years protected no claims discount. At the time of taking the policy i received a letter asking for proof of no claims discount and they required the original docs, i forward this to them in the envelope provide. One year on I'm moving away from more than due to bumping the policy by £150 and I've received a letter stating I now have 5 years no claims discount. After speaking on 4 separate calls over a period of 3 weeks to different overseas call centres and giving my old policy details over the phone multiple times I'm no further forward. Can never speak with anyone in the UK. If I hadn't photocopied by old policy I would now to totally stuck losing 5 years discount...
03/06/2010 They never acknowledge a complaint or even take note of a verbal complaint, in breach of the FSA complaint principles. They put my premium up even for a no-fault claim and then say my NCD is still protected but that the incident is a 'rating' factor. That is just misleading and misrepresenting the promises made when I switched to them. I joined More Than with 8 yrs no claims, but they will only ever confirm 4 years if you leave them. Frankly that is dishonest.
26/03/2010 BEWARE - took out contents insurance online and downloaded copy of policy from MT website. My garage was burgled so I made a claim. MT "informed" me that the Ts&Cs I had downloaded before paying for the policy were not the terms that governed my policy and my claim was therefore capped at £2k. Excuse me - what about the small matter of UK contract law?!! They are not entitled to change the terms of the policy unilaterally but that is what they are trying to do! Needless to say, 2 months later I am still trying to get the full claim paid out. Would definitely avoid MT in future and make sure you read the small print...
06/03/2010 Am also having problems with MoreThan car insurance renewal. On 24th Dec I posted a Business cheque to meet the 31st Dec renewal. Then on 12th Feb I received a letter advising that because the cheque was late the policy not renewed! Other cheques sent at same time were cleared first week of Jan but MoreThan didn't present the cheque until 25th Jan. A replacement policy was raised but their paperwork asked me for another cheque! I was told by Customer Services to ignore this, "accounts would transfer the money but it might take three weeks". On 6th March I received a letter saying as no cheque received the policy had been cancelled! Back to square one and they still have my money. They seem to have some serious business problems.
05/03/2010 Don't touch them with a mucky barge pole. Paid for car insurance renewal by cheque a month before due in January, cheque was duly cashed then they didn't renew my insurance. Only found out by chance when a letter arrived a month later saying 'were sorry you've decided to leave us etc....' Customer services have been useless, set up another policy for me, then that lapsed because they said I hadn't paid for it!!! Need to boycott foreign call centres and bring the jobs back to the UK.
03/03/2010 more interested in taking your money than helping. MORETHAN customer service is NON - existant...........an absolute disgrace........does anyone have a uk based contact number for this bunch of muppets please ??
12/02/2010 Bought online after getting a quote through confused.com, paid in one lump sum of £900+. Received insurance docs, and the information was not the same as what I had typed in online (previous non-fault accidents). I rang to check what details they had and eventually got through to someone who understood what I was asking for. I was told that because we had 2 non-fault accidents there would be an extra £600+ to pay! They admitted that the mistake was down to their system not updating the info (even though it was shown on screen and I could log back in and look at it), but they offered no solutions or advice, just offered to cancel the policy and leave us with no cover.
29/09/2009 House insurance with More than-they did'nt bother sending renewal quote for this years insurance so cover nearly lapsed! I Phoned them to request quote for new years cover, and had great difficulty with Indian call centre operatives who eventually hung up under the guise of "putting me through to a supervisor"-needless to say-no renewal! More Than=more hassle-avoid!!!!
23/09/2009 Was covered fully comp with morethan for over 8 months, when my car was broken in to and the stereo stolen there was a lot of paint damage. My car was still under Fords paint warranty so I told them any repairs have to be done by Ford. I was told they do not deal with Ford but they assured me that my warranty would not be voided due to the repairs... 5 visits to DWS later and still wasn't painted right, VERY bad job indeed! RSA (Morethan) then told me to take it to Ford to inspect which I did, Ford were amazed to say the least... 4 months later my car is still under repairs, the claim is still dragging on and Morethan do not answer my calls, e-mails or anything. Ford and myself are left completely out of the picture!
01/08/2009 Avoid this company. I paid my premium by credit card received my papers and when I made a claim was told that they couldn't process it as the payment hadn't cleared. After two weeks of call centres ( and no car ) the damage was finally repaired. Tonight my wife was involved in a( no blame ) accident and on phoning the 24 hr accident line was informed that this was the out of hours line and that an official report couldn't be registered until Monday ( no car again ). Frankly this borders on misrepresentation. I appreciate the comment that those most vocal will be those with something to complain about. Unfortunately I have nothing positive to report. I will never touch this company again and if you have any sense neither will you !
30/04/2009 Third party crashed into my car over 6 weeks ago and More Than have done nothing to pursue the claim. They push you around from a call centre in India to somewhere in the North of England. They don't take phone or written complaints seriously and if they say they will phone you back - they don't! I wish I had stayed with Direct Line - Yes I did save #200 on my premium but what hassle - I'd rather have paid more and got the service that I was used to. Before you decide to change insurers - think about it - You have been warned.
10/02/2009 Complete and utter shambles! They quote you one price and then try to charge another. When challenged, you never get the same story twice, or the same person. They glibly threatened to cancell my policy if I did not pay them another 103 that I did not owe them, this was after they apologised four times for getting it wrong. Their systems are usually down when you need to sort things out. Their protected NCD is a joke. If you have just one minor accident and its your fault or not they will try to put your premium up. Then they tell you that your NCD is intact if you stay with them. Whats the point of protected NCD if they still put the premium up after a bump? They finally sorted me out and promised to confirm in writing.
29/01/2009 hi drop my laptop last in oct 08. all straight forward agreed a settlement. more than send me a insurance card to get a new laptop from the dixon group. couldn't get one from pcworld or curry. so more than was going to sort out now they want they old laptop and now they want to try to repair it. they are a wast of time. they agreed a settlement last year. now they gone back on there word. they give u a silly insurance relacement card that you can't use on the internet. all the good laptop were web offive.
19/12/2008 Absolutely Shambolic. Bear in mind I've NEVER claimed (10 years +). After burglary and vandalism of my tenanted house I started a claim on 10/10/08, a month later - nothing. I rang MoreThan to see what the delay was (was only in the UK until 9/12) they had a backlog, and would call back the next day. 7 days later nothing (I called them x2 in this period too and was fobbed off that the loss adjuster was busy). 2/12 I phoned - loss adjuster must visit property with me present). Property had a new tenant/I'm going back to NL 9/12 - loss adjuster can only visit after 9/12! Asked them to visit new tenant who works F/T, at weekend - they can't. Loss adjuster can suddenly do visit without me present?!. 19/12 Loss adjuster can now visit weekends...
23/11/2008 I got a quote on line which i payed for in full which allowed my 20 year old son to drive my car i tryed to add my 25 year old daughter 1 week later and was told the insurance was granted by mistake and had to be cancelled imediatley and that young drivers got through the system on the internet by mistake and more than could not insure anyone under 25, they gave my a full refund but only because i was within the 14 days cooling off period, how missleading is this so do yourself a favour and do not use more than quotes on the internet as gospal as they change there minds after they get your money.
27/10/2008 I liked More Than's quote form - rather than having small print buried at the bottom, it pops up when you fill in the relevant bit of the form. Eg when you click in the "age" box, it tells you that if you're under 18 or over 79, they can't insure your car. The price they quoted me was on the high side compared to other quotes, but not by much. I liked their offer of 10% in the first year and then 20% off in all subsequent years unless you claim - seemed a better deal than most companies provide.
27/10/2008 After dropping my laptop, I phoned my helpful insurance company and was told that they would arrange for a loss adjustor to visit. It took several phone calls and a month later for him to turn up. He said he would arrange for a company to pick it up and examine it -- that took over a week. Then they all went quiet on me. I phoned and emailed and kept being told someone would ring me about it, but they never did. I tried to phone the loss adjustor but his voice box was always full and could not accept messages. Eventually almost 2 and a half months after the laptop was collected, someone came to see me and virtually accused me of lying. I made it clear what had happened. She said she would get back to me but has not.
21/10/2008 Beware! Beware! Every time I call up More Than to make changes on my policy there is a message at the start saying "we're going to add you to our marketing database which will be sold to a whole bunch of people unless you object at the end of this call" (or words to that effect) - last week it was a 20 minute call so I ended up forgetting by the end to mention "no sales calls please" which I've had to do every time I've phoned up. This week I've been harrassed by dozens of companies!! If you use these guys put a big Don't Forget notice in front of you every time you call them.
16/10/2008 I'm so tired of Indian call centres. And if you comment on how you can't understand what they're saying they get so annoyed with you! So I called up to cancel the policy and they seem to have a totally British call centre for that, who are ever so polite and try to convince you to stay saying they can probably knock something off my premium. That just got me angry - why couldn't they knock it off when I originally took out the policy?
30/06/2008 Their quote form got incredibly confusing and no option to add more than one pet! They had a call-back form which I filled in ... only to have them ring me up every 15 mins for two hours straight. Why? To tell me that their systems were down and they could not give me a quote. By the fourth phone call I had gone elsewhere!
13/06/2008 Quote process seemed quite long and they were not the cheapest price I got, even though you apparently saved 15% by buying online. Noticed that you had to call to make a claim although most other companies you can now do it online. Phone number is freephone with no alternative which is inconvenient as I use my mobile alot. All the important information links were clearly highlighted in green so you knew where you should be clicking and reading more. Doesn't provide cover for the first 14 days, but I think that is pretty standard for pet insurance.
11/06/2008 I don't like insurance websites plastered with cute cartoons. As such I tend to doubt how serious they are. Having said that, this is comprehensive and easy to navigate. Process of obtaining a quote for house insurance was simple enough - price was beyond what I'd been quoted elsewhere today though.
24/05/2008 Disappointing. The quote pages are really messy, poorly laid out and therefore, difficult to complete. The quote was higher than I would have expected from their usual advertising campaigns, and that was with a significant excess. Wouldn't recommend this site.
