20/08/2010 I have my St Bernard insured with Pet Plan under their Pet Value Policy which is their basic policy. Despite this they have settled all of my claims in accordance with their terms and conditions in a . This has now reached £11,000 in less than two years. I would recommend Pet Plan but would advise potential customers to check the policy to ensure it provides the cover they want , for example my policy does not cover dental work of any description

19/01/2010 i cannot praise petplan highly enough. I have a policy wth cover for life for my siamese cat, chime. she has a chronic rhinitis problem that she will have for the rest of her life and has had approx £2300 worth of veterinary treatment in the last year. with my policy, the vet gives chime every treatment she requires, the receptionist deals with the paperwork and petplan pay them direct. its that simple! never had a problem with them and cant recomend them highly enough.

03/01/2010 Pet plan are a nightmare to deal with and its easier getting a refund from the tax office than get paid out on a claim. They paid a direct claim to me instead of the Vet and then treated me as though I'd made the mistake. Choose one of the cheaper options. Steer well clear.

16/10/2009 never had insurance on my previous dog and he was a healthy 16.5 year old when he passed away but when I got my new puppy decided to take out insurance with Pet Plan - having had him for a year the vet contact them regarding a claim regarding a hernia and some dental work. They now have turned down my claim saying this was known - this is not true the hernia was not spotted until he was nearly 2 months old and although a comment was made when he was first examined that he had an undercut jaw - this is normal in the breed - this is not the reason why he needs to have two teeth removed this is because they have not fallen out. Having paid over a year's worth of premiums at a high rate I am not impressed with their denial to settle what should be covered - as no exemptions were made at the time of taking out the policy. Wish I had gone to another insurer - not impressed with their attitude

02/10/2009 Petplan actually give you £4k each year and it refreshes at renewal, so you're never limited for a condition like cheaper insurances

19/10/2008 Pet Plan offers a 10% discount for buying online, which is always welcome. I liked their quotation form - it was straightforward and explained why they were asking for information such as my date of birth. However their quote was twice as much as I've had from other companies. It did include up to £4000 of vets fees per medical condition, including some complementary treatment (what complementary therapies are there for cats?) but overall I didn't think this was competitive so won't be using them.
